Hotel Lanchid 19 (Hotel Chain Bridge 19) ****

Named after Budapest's famed "Chain Bridge" that spans the Danube, Lánchíd 19 is a contemporary highlight in a neighborhood of predominantly 19th century architecture. Detail definitely reins supreme here: a diver morphing into wavelets on the facade, overhead glass suspension bridges holding sandblasted fingertips, archaeological remains of a water tower below stairs, uniform made by award-winning Hungarian fashion designers on the hotel staff.
Not surprisingly Lánchíd 19 is the first Hungarian hotel that could join the design hotels™ chain.

The hotel that is situated on the Danube riverbank at the feet of the Buda Royal Castle provides a fascinating view on Chain Bridge, Margaret Island as well as the Pest riverbank, and on the other side the Buda Royal Castle.
Lánchíd 19 has a moveable, accordion-like glass facade with tiny painted graphics, chronicling the ecosystem of the Danube. It is animated by the changing colors of an innovative lighting design concept, thus morphing into large pictures (e.g. of a fingerprint, a diver, a bottle or wavelets).

The conference room at the basement is surrounded by the remains of a medieval water-tower, excavated and renovated during the construction works of Lánchíd 19. It is visible from the lobby through glass flooring, serving as architectural contrast to the innovative atrium, where overhead glass suspension bridges lead to the upstairs rooms.

The bridges hold sandblasted fingertips of the creators of the hotel. Also in the atrium, guests find three paintings (Break of Day, Firebird, Enthusiasm) of famous French painter Ms. Francoise Gilot - also known as a companion of Picasso.
Lánchíd 19 offers 45 rooms and 3 suites, all of them with a view either at the Pest riverbank or the Buda Royal Castle, both of them parts of the UNESCO World Heritages.

Every room is equipped with air conditioning, free internet access, LCD TV set featuring international channels, telephone, minibar and safe deposit as basic room fittings.
All suites have special internal design and huge panorama terraces.
In Lánchíd 19 each room features a different creative installation inspired by the classical-modern chairs, thus providing a unique design experience.

Staff uniform follows latest fashion trends as it is designed by an award-winning Hungarian group.

L19, the restaurant of the first floor can seat 60 guests. Its gastronomic concept, contemporary and traditional dishes fit the milieu of the hotel. L19 offers international and Hungarian wine specialties.
Custom-designed furnishing and unique chinaware as well as staff uniform of the latest fashion trends distinguishes L19 from the customary hotel restaurants .
The backyard café that is directly attached to the wall of the Royal Castle overrun by green plants can be connected to the restaurant on request. The vivid colours and broad assortment of drinks at our 24-hour bar that can be opened to the arcades at the front of the hotel provide a great recreation possibility to tourists.

Lánchíd 19 accommodates three conference rooms of three different styles with a combined area of 120 m2 (1291 sq ft) and a capacity of seating 100 guests.
The meeting rooms are ideal places for trainings, workshops or cozy conferences.
The section room on the ground floor possesses special atmosphere, since it is surrounded by the medieval remains of a water-tower which was excavated and renovated during the construction works of the hotel.

• arriving from highways M1 or M7, drive through Alkotás út and the Tunnel to Clark Ádám tér, then turn right to Lánchíd utca
• arriving from highway M3 in the direction of the city centre on Hungária körút, turn right at Thököly út, drive till railway station Keleti, straight on to Rákóczi út, drive through Erzsébet híd (Elisabeth Bridge) then turn right to Lánchíd utca
• arriving from the airport, take the airport highway to the city centre, cross Kálvin tér, drive through Erzsébet-híd (Elisabeth Bridge) to Lánchíd utca's end at Clark Ádám tér.
